The linked trials studied bremelanotide injections in premenopausal women with a specific low-desire disorder. They did not test this troche formulation.

In trials involving 1,267 women before menopause with distressing low desire, bremelanotide injections improved desire and reduced related distress more than placebo. Nausea, flushing, and headache were more common. The results do not establish the same benefit for CIRx formats.
